The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the class 10 and 12 examinations from February 15 to April 2, 2024. These exams saw the participation of over 39 lakh students from India and about 26 other countries.

 The results are scheduled to be published on the official CBSE board websites at cbse.nic.in and cbse.gov.in. This year more than 39 lakh students registered for the CBSE board exams. As per media reports, the results are expected to be released in May.

 A student must secure a minimum of 26 marks out of 80 to pass the theory examination of particular subjects in the CBSE class 10 and class 12 results 2024. Along with this, a student must secure 33 percent in each subject to pass the examination.

 Around 16.9 lakh students appeared for the exam in 2023, out of which 7.4 lakh were female students, 9.51 lakh male candidates, and 5 students registered under the ‘others’ category. A total of 1,12,838 students scored 90 per cent or more marks. CBSE board informed that a total of 1,25,705 Class 12 students were placed in the compartment category.

 Out of 2184117 students who registered for the exams, 2165805 students took the exam in 2023. As many as 2016779 students passed the exam taking the overall pass percentage to 93.12 per cent. In 2022, as many as 107689 students, or 5.14 per cent of students who took the exam were placed in the compartment exam,  in 2023, the number increased. A total of 6.22 per cent of students or 134774 students were placed in compartments last year.

National Credit Framework (NCrF) shall be introduced in CBSE Schools on a pilot basis in classes 6, 9 and 11 from the academic session 2024-2025.  Students have the opportunity to earn credits through various activities such as classroom instruction, laboratory work, projects, sports, performing arts, NCC, social work, vocational education, and experiential learning, including relevant professional experience.  Last year, the government introduced the National Credit Framework (NCrF) as part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, aimed at integrating school, higher, and vocational education, enabling students to accrue credits from pre-primary to PhD levels.
